viaSport and BC Games Society are seeking interest forms for the BC Games Mentorship Program for the Kamloops 2018 BC Winter Games (February 22 - 25). Through coach mentor/apprentice pairings, this program is designed to assist coaches in enhancing and developing their coaching skills in pursuit of coaching certification.

Host cities announced for BC Winter and BC Summer Games

News

Fort St. John, Maple Ridge, Greater Vernon and Prince George have been announced as host cities for the 2020 and 2022 BC Winter and Summer Games. These games bring together athletes, coaches, officials, spectators and visitors, and result in significant economic benefits to the regions over the four days of competition.

Sport organizations benefit from Penticton 2016 BC Winter Games Legacy Funds

News

Making a direct impact on sports in Penticton, $62,000 in Legacy Funds was disbursed to local groups from the organizers of the Penticton 2016 BC Winter Games. The BC Winter Games brought 1,700 athletes, coaches, and officials to Penticton and area in February of 2016 to participate in 17 different sports, including four sports for athletes with a disability.

14 BC Coaches selected for Mentorship Program at the 2016 BC Summer Games

Fourteen coaches from six BC communities have been chosen to participate in the BC Games Coach Mentorship Program as part of the Abbotsford 2016 BC Summer Games. A partnership initiative between viaSport and the BC Games Society, the mentorship program pairs apprentice and mentor coaches for unique hands-on experience and training at the Games.
