Squash BC announces Head Coach and Manager for 2019 Winter Games Team

Squash BC is excited to announce that Kevin Inouye and Emma Parke have been selected as Head Coach and Manager, respectively, for the 2019 Canada Winter Games BC Squash team.

Kevin Inouye brings over 30 years of Squash coaching experience to the Canada Winter Games team, starting in Ontario then moving to BC recently. This will be his second Canada Winter Games as a provincial Head Squash Coach, previously coaching the Ontario team in 1995. He has also participated in three other winter games as Team Ontario Mission Staff.

I am excited to work with Emma and our elite junior squash players to represent BC at the 2019 Games in
Red Deer”

Kevin is an NCCP Certified Provincial Coach (Level III) and an NCCP Certified Learning Facilitator. Over the years he has coached Squash and Tennis athletes in Ontario and BC at The Skyline Club, Mayfair Lakeshore, Toronto Cricket Club and Jericho Tennis Club. He has also previously coached elite squads for the Ontario Winter Games, Ontario Elite Squash Program and Ontario Teams Program. Kevin’s breadth of experience is sure to have a positive impact on Team BC’s Squash team. We are very pleased to have Kevin on board as Team BC’s Head Coach.

Emma Parke is an accomplished Squash player and coach. Emma is originally from England where she started her career as a Physical Education teacher, before moving to Canada. Since moving to Vancouver in 2004 she has been deeply involved in the Squash community, having previously been the Head Squash Pro at Denman Fitness Club and Vancouver Lawn and Tennis Club and a Physical Education Teacher at York House School. She is currently a Physical Education teacher for the Burnaby School District and Program Director for Kickstart Squash which works with inner city young to improve self-esteem and learning through the game of squash and life skills. Emma has designed and implemented squash and other fitness programs for athletes of all ages and will be sure to add an extra dimension of experience to Team BC’s Squash coaching team.

The 2019 Canada Winter Games will be hosted in Red Deer, Alberta from February 15 to March 3, 2019.
