The familiar sound of football chants filled the air March 17 – 31 at the BC Lions Training Facility; however, it wasn’t your typical crowd. The turf was packed with a group of junior football athletes running drills and honing their skills in anticipation of the annual Senior Bowl.

Once a year, Football BC brings together the top junior athletes in grade 12 from across the province for a week long training camp leading up to the legendary Senior Bowl Game. Junior athletes receive high-level training from qualified Football BC provincial coaches and mentorship from BC Lions athletes and staff.

This camp supports athletes by helping their coaches as well. A number of junior development coaches were there to learn from their professional counterparts.

Aware of the incredible work that Football BC is doing with coach development, we decided to stop by the event to learn more.

Inside the BC Lions Locker Room, we had a chance to speak with BC Lions Quarterback Travis Lulay, Football BC’s Technical Director, Dino Geremia and Provinicial Coach Neil Steffler on their experiences at the event.

Watch this video for a quick recap of our day!
