The Coaches Advisory Group is a team of sport leaders experienced and knowledgeable about coaching in BC that will act in a consultative capacity to provide advice and recommendations to viaSport. This group will help shape and inform program strategies to ensure that all BC coaches receive the best in development, certification, support and education. They will also discuss and work to implement new ways to recruit and certify more coaches in BC, and ensure all sport participants have access to the highest quality coaching services.
The Girls & Women Advisory Group is a team of passionate female sport advocates that provides advice and recommendations to viaSport on strategy development, best practices, and program delivery for acheiving gender equity in sport and physical activity in BC. The group also provides recommendations on the implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive policy on gender equity in sport and physical activity.
The Northern Sport Accessibility Initiative 2015 Advisory Team is a group of committed inclusion advocates who provide advice and recommendations to viaSport on strategy development, best practices, and program delivery to increase access and awareness of sport and physical activity opportunities for people with disabilities living in northern BC. The three-year project is a legacy from the 2015 Canada Winter Games and aims to work cross-sectorally to develop a sustainable accessibility strategy that can be adopted province-wide. This project supports Accessibility 2024--making BC the most progressive place in Canada for people with a disability.
The Sport Safety Advisory Group is cross sectoral leaders that will advise on and influence initiatives related to concussion, injury prevention and anti-bullying in order to ensure that British Columbia has a culture that places the safety and well-being of athletes and participants at the centre of all sport.
