Celebrate British Columbia Coaches Week with recognition and thanks Participate in week-long contests and events across BC, September 14 – 22, 2013  

Vancouver, BC – viaSport is thrilled to kick off the 7th annual British Columbia Coaches Week, running September 14 – 22 this year. An initiative of the Coaches Association of BC, this annual event focuses on the recruitment, development and celebration of sport coaches across the province.

This year’s event will feature recognition events, free training opportunities, webcasts from coaching experts, special discounts, contests, prizes and more in numerous communities across the province. viaSport would like to thank the Pacific Sports Centres, PISE, Fitness Town, River Rock Casino Resort, Langley Events Centre, Richmond Olympic Oval, Human Kinetics and the BC Sports Hall of Fame for their special contributions to making this year’s Coaches Week the most exciting celebration yet.

“Whether it’s teaching our kids a new sport, preparing a provincial team for a national event or running a community program, our coaches are leading the development of sport across the province,” says viaSport Coaching Services Manager, Chantelle Reinkens. “This week provides a great opportunity to take a moment to recognize the countless hours our coaches devote to supporting BC athletes at all levels and abilities.”
 

Here are some ways you can get involved in BC Coaches Week this year:

• Register or support a coach related event happening in your community
• Attend one of the many FREE NCCP courses offered across the province
• Watch informative and inspirational webcasts featuring BC coaching experts on Sept. 17 and Sept. 19, airing at www.viasport.ca

• Send in your inspiring coach story or photo to coaches@viasport.ca over the week to win prizes
• Participate in our Facebook contest by answering our daily coaching question at www.facebook.com/viasportbc
• Get creative! Share what you’re doing to celebrate BC Coaches Week with coaches@viasport.ca
