viaSport British Columbia is a not-for-profit organization established in 2011, responsible for providing strategic leadership to sport in BC with the goal of increasing levels of physical activity at every stage of life, in every community. Formed in partnership with the provincial sport sector and the Province of BC, viaSport – along with our BC sport partners – is shaping a new, more effective model for sport delivery and fund administration which drives increased participation, powers sport excellence and better unifies all sport throughout the province.

viaSport Media is the catalyst behind increasing the exposure, recognition and power of amateur-level sport in British Columbia. As the broadcast and production arm of viaSport, our goal is to be at as many sport events as possible to share live-streamed and feature coverage with families, friends and fans across BC and the world.

  • viaSport directly supports:
    • more than 70 provincial and multi-sport organizations and approximately 650,000 registered participants
    • more than 900 coach education and training courses offered to approximately 13,000 participants in 100 communities annually
  • viaSport grants approximately $16 million annually to support more than 500 sport organizations, community groups, local sport groups, Aboriginal communities and schools to support projects, events and other operational costs (eg. training and development)
